Equitable Advisor Competes in Dancing Fundraiser

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (October 11, 2014) –Equitable Advisors Pittsburgh Branch, a leading provider of financial services for consumers and business, would like to recognize the Community Service of Financial Professional James Chadwell of the Fairmont office.  Jim competed in The Marion County Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Marion County Dancing with the Stars fundraising event.  The event was held on Saturday, Oct. 11 in Colbank Hall on the campus of Fairmont State University.

Five local couples from Marion County took to the floor to help raise money for the Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Marion County.

Equitable Advisors helped sponsor the event, and their own Jim Chadwell competed with his partner Marlena Mazza.  Jim and Marlena won Second Place in the People’s Choice category for amount of funds raised.

“I am very grateful to the United Way for letting me step out of my comfort zone.  I had such a great time learning the moves and am pleased with the response from the community.  It was a great event and for the first time I am excited to dust the mantle to make room for the mirror ball trophy,” Chadwell said

Marion County Chamber of Commerce President Tina Shaw, who co-chaired the event, said that this year’s event raised about $30,000 for the organizations.

“Organized in 1953, the Marion County Chamber of Commerce serves as the voice of the county’s business community and initiates progressive action on major issues affecting the well-being of those businesses. The chamber provides leadership and support to all businesses in the area. The MCCC is a not-for-profit organization supported by investments from more than 450 member businesses and other contributions to chamber programs. Chamber staff and volunteers plan and implement numerous business and community events that enhance the quality of life for everyone in Marion County. Numerous chamber committees focus on key issues that directly impact the county’s business community.”

United Way of Marion Count Executive Director Tiffany Walker Samuels also co-chaired the event.
